The excitement of launching a blog, YouTube Channel, website, and/or business is real.

You have put in all this work and now it’s finally time to show the world what you are made of! But maybe you have been through previous launches, so you don’t need something old-fashioned again for your new launch.

Launch 1.0 was a test. Launch 2.0 was a more improved test. Now, beyond this launch, I’m only counting successes.

After two years of planning, working, and re-working the business plan and goals, I am excited to present to you …

Launch 2.5-ish …

Human-Curated Content, Opinions, Commentary, and Interjected Humor Wherever Possible.

That’s just a fancy way of saying that I’ll be telling you about stuff.

This blog, the new YouTube Channel, associated social media accounts, and the WESTbase.com family of websites are all about edutainment. (Definition later in the post … read on …)

I love the art of storytelling. Everyone loves a great story.

For us humans, every day is filled with new experiences. Through failure and success, we learn. We gain knowledge. Stories are told to share and retell these experiences.

Through curated-content, copywriting, and software, the blog, whiteboard, and animated videos help me tell these stories.

With my over 40 years of experience in small and corporate business, plus interacting with many people over that time, I have a lot of stories and opinions to share with you.

As you read through the blog, watch my whiteboard and animated videos, and look at the content on the websites and social media, you will discover the journey that each post and story asks you to consider.

Many of the videos on the The WESTbase Channel (YouTube) will link to a blog post here on The WESTbase Blog, with additional information, links, and other resources.

All the WESTbase.com family of websites and social media accounts are dedicated to the promotion of learning via entertainment. I think that is called edutainment! (See, told ya the definition would be revealed!)

What types of stories might you see here on the blog and the YouTube Channel?

My Planned Storytelling List

  • Mindfulness and Self-Development
  • Motivational Quotes and Mindset
  • Key Events and Trivia
  • Product Info and Reviews
  • Helpful Websites
  • Internet Marketing
  • Interjected Humor

Mindfulness and Self-Development

To suggest a clarity of thought.

Mindfulness is defined as an awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surroundings in a caring manner, which is maintained moment by moment. A person can improve their mindfulness by becoming more aware of their environment, thoughts, emotions, and body sensations through a gentle nurturing lens.

Self-improvement is the cultivation of one’s potential or capabilities. Personal growth takes many forms, including learning new skills or fixing bad habits. Learning new skills and eliminating bad habits are two ways to improve yourself. The state of improving or developing oneself is known as self-development.

Motivational Quotes and Mindset

To inspire you and clarify intention.

Motivational quotes are one way to help stay positive, productive, and happy as you move along your journey. Words can be found for a range of emotions, personal traits, and life events. There is no singular or “right” kind of inspiration or motivation for you. Every thought makes a difference.

A mindset is a set of beliefs which affect how you understand yourself and the world around you. This affects your thoughts, feelings, and behavior in any given circumstance. Your mindset is formed from the various beliefs you hold about yourself and the world at large.

Key Events and Trivia

To learn from the past, and the present, that could chart our future.

No matter who you are, events happen that affect you. Major happenings that affect us in our daily lives and also the world around us are known as Key Events. News media and other entities typically focus on these issues and related topics. I’ll give my thoughts on their narratives.

But for one person, a given event may be trivia while for another, it is the key event.

Even if trivia is considered unimportant, it can still be interesting or even thought-provoking to learn about insignificant details. Perhaps the brain just needs to think “hmm” to go through the process.

Product Info and Reviews

To point you in the direction of useful products and services.

It’s an almost daily occurrence to hear about new product and service offerings. My inbox and social media feeds are flooded with these announcements. I will sift through the good and the bad to deliver you the best opportunities that I believe are valuable.

Helpful Websites

To route you to shortcuts that save you some steps.

To get a sense of the internet’s size, I asked Siri for the number of websites that are online. She said that according to the Wolfram|Alpha website, as of February 2020, it was estimated that 1.751 billion websites were online.

Trying to find resources about your interests when you are simply browsing the web is a waste of time. There are a lot of good websites out there, and many of them are popular, so you may already be familiar with them. But other useful websites are also available. Daily, I am reviewing website content and social media posts, cataloging websites that have shortcuts and/or processes that are simpler to get things done. You’ll see my findings both here and on the YouTube Channel.

Internet Marketing

Tips and tricks for building an online business.

Are you considering establishing an internet business? Are you interested in affiliate marketing? Despite your business not being mostly online, how can internet marketing help your business?

The phrase “Internet marketing” can be used to describe any and all forms of marketing over the Internet, including all of the strategies used for promoting products and services through digital and online methods. These strategies include:

  • Building a online tribe with your current and future customers
  • Email marketing
  • Website content and thoughtfully designing the best user experience
  • Social media (post often with quick updates)
  • Blogging (post quality detailed stories)
  • Video/podcasting (let your customer see and hear you)
  • Online ads (free and paid ads)
  • Sponsorships and paid promotions

By creating quality marketing content and taking the time to create relationships with your clients and customers, you are establishing the ‘know’, ‘like’, and ‘trust’ factor that is necessary to build your online business.

Future blog posts and videos on the YouTube Channel will expand on the details of these topics.

Interjected Humor

It just wouldn’t be edutainment if we didn’t have some fun along the way, so why not? Geez, My kids are already cringing at the possibility of bad dad jokes.

What’s Next …

There you have it. My Planned Storytelling List. I may come up with additional topics along the way, so be on the lookout for some surprises.

Every day, I work on content for the blog, social media posts, and new videos. I am a one-man show with 20+ different jobs! That’s the life of a solopreneur. And that’s not even counting all of my software development projects for future website apps to help you simplify tasks online. Is it any wonder why some days are just better than others?
