Universe Hurling Rocks By Earth, Again

On March 21, 2021, the largest identified asteroid will fly by. The diameter of asteroid 2001 FO32 is determined to be around 0.6 miles (1 km), a little shorter than the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s going at a speed of around 76,980 mph (123,887 km/h), or 21 miles (34.4 km) per second. Observers with telescopes with a diameter of 8 inches or greater would be able to see it. The space rock would be too faint to see through a telescope in the southern United States and the southern hemisphere, but it will be visible through a telescope in the southern hemisphere. Check out Stellarium online or TheSkyLive for more information on how to watch the asteroid fly by in the United Kingdom and the southern hemisphere, or use a telescope at your nearest observatory. In 2021, the largest asteroids are expected to travel by Earth.
